A short, friendly placement assessment in English, Arabic and Maths, so your child starts in the right class.
Receive your offer, complete the registration file and choose a payment plan.
CHS accepts students from KG1 (age 3) to Grade 12. Children joining Kindergarten are placed by age. Students joining Grade 1 and above are placed by their previous school records and the placement assessment. Students transferring from Lebanese-curriculum, American-curriculum and other international schools are all welcome; the assessment helps us plan any support a child needs to settle in.
Bring these to the registration meeting, or send scans in advance. The admissions office will confirm the exact list for your child's grade.
The assessment is not an entrance exam. It is a short session in English, Arabic and Mathematics that shows us where your child is today so that teachers can plan from the first week. Children in Kindergarten are observed in a play setting rather than tested. You will receive the result and the proposed placement at the welcome meeting.
Tuition at CHS is set per grade and reviewed each academic year. We keep fees competitive for the area and transparent: the fee schedule for your child's grade is given to you in writing at the welcome meeting, with no hidden extras. Please contact the admissions office for the current schedule.
Families move, and children can join CHS during the year where a place is available. The same four steps apply; the assessment helps the class teacher plan the transition.
Both. CHS teaches the American curriculum in English alongside the Lebanese national curriculum, with Arabic as a core subject from Kindergarten. Students graduate with the American High School Diploma and meet the Lebanese requirements.
No. Many children join Kindergarten with little English and become fluent within the first years. For older students the placement assessment shows us what support is needed, and the school plans it before the first day.
KG1 welcomes children from age 3. KG2 and KG3 follow, so a child can complete three years of Kindergarten before Grade 1.
